November Campout – Ouachita Trail 6 Mile Hike

The troop will be heading to the Ouachita Mountains in Oklahoma for our annual overnight backpacking campout. The scouts will hike about 6 miles, set up camp on the trail, and eat freeze-dried camping meals for dinner. This is a great way for the younger scouts to get exposed to backpacking!

We will meet at 6:30am Saturday morning at City Bridge Community Church, 6400 K Avenue in Plano (just north of Spring Creek Pkwy).  Please be on time so we can hit the road by 7:00.  No Class A or Class B.  (You may wear your synthetic Class B as a base layer).  Arrive in the clothes you will hike in.

• Eat breakfast before you arrive.
• Trail lunch for Saturday lunch – We’ll eat about 30 minutes into the hike. Bring your own.
• Bring trail snacks for during the hike.
• Saturday dinner – Bring your own Backpacking meal (Mountain House, Backpacker’s Pantry, etc.)
• Sunday breakfast – no-cook, quick and easy.  Bring your own.
• Bring money for snacks on way up and snacks/lunch on the way home. ($25 suggested)

We will return back to City Bridge Community Church on Sunday around 4pm.
