Summer Camp Fundraiser – Mulch Spreading

Troop 221 will be participating again this year with Troop 25 in a fundraiser to help offset the costs for summer camp. We will be spreading mulch to those who purchased the service. 100% of what we collect will go into the passbook accounts of the boys who participate.

The plan will be to meet at Messiah Lutheran Church in Plano at 8:30AM on Saturday, April 6. The time it takes to spread depends on the number of scouts, adult drivers, number of homes, and routes. Plan for between 3-5 hours to complete the effort.

What to bring – gloves, rakes, positive attitudes, a sense of urgency, and water bottles. No open-toed shoes. Dress appropriately for the weather (layers help as the day progresses and gets warmer you can remove layers). You will be spreading cedar mulch so if you have allergies please take precautions like pre-medicate or wearing a mask. Also, bring a light snack for lunch, a heavy lunch can slow you down and we’re trying to be safe, fast, and efficient.

If you are an adult driver, you will not need a truck – just have space enough for rakes and for your crew.
We need as many hands as we can get. Even if you aren’t going to summer camp, please consider helping as this will assist our troop.
