Meet Our Leaders

Leadership can only be developed by practicing leadership. Our boys lead the program with mentoring from adults who are keenly interested in their growth and development. We provide annual leadership training and continuously encourage the boys to make the most of their time as youth leaders.

Troop 221 EAGLE Projects

Our Eagle Scouts’ projects have required courage and determination, helping the community in various ways.

Projects have included building a gag ball pit at park at Custer and Legacy in PLano, clearing trails and creating shelving units at the Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary in McKinney, and making doghouses for Operation Kindness Animal Shelter in Carrollton. Scouts have shown leadership by building an outdoor shelter for the SPCA, building a brick wall at the entrance to Heritage Farmstead, and manning the Keep Plano Beautiful booth at the Plano Balloon Festivals. Our Eagle Scouts have done library book drives, improvement projects for our chartered organizations, city park improvements and services, and other improvements for local charities such as Minnie’s Food Pantry.

In fact, one of our recent Eagle Scouts was featured on NBC 5 Wake Up to Something Good for his recent leadership efforts. Griffin collected over $4,000 in donations and goods for the food pantry at First Baptist Church in Allen. See it here!

Check our calendar for upcoming projects, or contact us if you are aware of a need in the community that could use a Troop 221 Eagle Scout!
