Summer Camp Fundraiser – Mulch Spreading

Troop 221 will participate again this year with Troop 25 in a fundraiser to help offset the costs of summer camp. We will spread mulch for those who purchased the service. 100% of what we collect will go into the passbook accounts of the boys who participate.
The plan is to meet at Messiah Lutheran Church in Plano at 8:30AM on Saturday, March 8th. The time required to spread the mulch will depend on the number of scouts, adult drivers, the number of homes, and the routes. Plan for 3-5 hours to complete the effort.
What to bring: gloves, rakes, positive attitudes, a sense of urgency, and water bottles. No open-toed shoes. Dress appropriately for the weather (layers are helpful; as the day warms up, you can remove layers). You will be spreading cedar mulch, so if you have allergies, please take precautions, like pre-medicating or wearing a mask. Additionally, please bring a light snack for lunch; a heavy meal can slow you down, and we’re aiming to be safe, fast, and efficient.
If you are an adult driver, you will not need a truck—just enough space for rakes and your crew. We need as many hands as we can get. Even if you aren’t going to summer camp, please consider helping, as this will assist our troop.
