Troop 221 will be collaborating with T25, P25 and G-T21 in a fundraiser that will help offset costs of summer camp. Troop 25, P25 and G-T21 will be selling and delivering mulch. T221 will be spreading it for those who purchase the service. We’ll make $2 per bag and we are aiming to spread about 1,800 bags! This will be the second time we’ve collaborated on this fundraiser with other troops and packs. This time 100% of what we collect will go into the passbook accounts of the boys who participate.
Please save the morning of Saturday, March 19th, probably at 8 AM (exact start time will depend on when truck is at location delivering mulch and time it takes for T25 to get loaded to depart on routes to deliver to customers). The time it takes to spread depends on the number of scouts, adult drivers, number of homes and routes. I’m estimating about 5 hours to spread. The meeting location is currently being worked on (we’ll send additional information as the date get closer). If the weather is poor, the mulch truck will not deliver. If this is the case, the event will be pushed to the following Saturday, March 26. In this inclement weather case, we will move our troop campout from the 26th.
What to bring – mask, gloves, rakes, positive attitudes, sense of urgency and water bottles. No open toed shoes, and Covid-19 precautions will be in full effect. Dress appropriately for the weather.
If you are an adult driver, you will not need a truck – just have space enough for rakes and for your crew.
We need as many hands as we can get. Even if you aren’t going to summer camp please consider helping as this will assist our Troop.
