Reminder: Sign up for mulch Spreading

Mulch spreading is next Saturday, the 20th.  If you haven’t signed up already please do so at the link below.  We have a lot of mulch to spread and the more people who help out the faster it will be completed.  Everyone who goes to summer camp benefits directly from this campout so if you plan to send your son it would be nice to have him (and you 🙂 participate with us if you are available, if even for a few hours.

YIS,

Frank

Parents and Scouts,

The troop has been blessed with the opportunity to participate in a fundraising activity to help offset the cost of the summer camp bus.  Troop 25 is selling mulch and T221 will be spreading it for those who purchase the service.  We’ll make $2 per bag and we are aiming to spread about 1,500 bags!  1/3 of what we collect will go into the passbook accounts of the boys who participate, the other 2/3 will go directly toward the bus cost.

Please save the morning of Saturday, March 20th, probably at 8 AM (exact start time will depend on when truck is at location delivering mulch and time it takes for T25 to get loaded to depart on routes to deliver to customers)  The time it takes to spread depends on the number of scouts, adult drivers, number of homes and routes.  We’ll meet at 17 Acres where crews and drivers will receive route information (weather Permitting).  If the weather is poor, the mulch truck will not deliver. If this is the case, the event will be pushed to the following Saturday, March 27.  (In this inclement weather case we will move our troop campout from the 27th back to March 20th and camp, rain or shine.)

What to bring – mask, gloves, rakes, positive attitudes, sense of urgency and water bottles.  No Open Toed Shoes, and Covid-19 Precautions will be in full effect.  Dress appropriately for the weather.

If you are an adult driver you will not need a truck – just have space enough for rakes and for your crew.

We need as many hands as we can get.  Even if you aren’t going to summer camp please consider helping as this will assist our Troop.

Yours in Scouting,

Frank Buercklin
