The Troop was very excited to get back to our first campout since the COVID pandemic began in March. The scouts learned how to safely operate shotguns and .22 rifles. It was many of the boys first time, and some of the older boys are becoming excellent marksmen. We roasted a whole hog in a La Caja China, and it was delicious. Our SPL even ate one of the eyeballs! We ended Saturday evening with a flag burning ceremony led by one of our older scouts. All the scouts agreed that it was great to finally get back to some bit of normalcy. And, we can’t wait to do it again at the October Campout in a couple weeks!
